| The World of Kuroi Name: Reiz "The Void" Age: 21 Race: Elemental (Lightning) Gender: Male Sexual Interest: Heterosexual Height: 6'2" Weight: 190 lbs Attire: Reiz always wears his most recognizable outfit. A basic black suit, added on with many things such as white gloves, a utility belt, hidden pockets, pouches and sheathes for all his weaponry and gadgets, and the most recognizable thing about him, his large red cloak that covers his shoulders and everything above. All this, and a white mask with stitches on the mouth and two piercing black eyeholes as the cherry on top. An addition is a cat-like tail attached to the behind, which flows and moves like an actual tail would, but is sturdy like steel, and can be maneuvered and controlled to grasp or wrap around things with effort on Reiz's part through technology in his suit. He never takes this suit off in public, and as such no one has seen his true face in years. Everyone around him has basically forgotten what he looks like outside his outfit at this point. Personality: Reiz is the kind of person that, at this point, isn't concerned with much. He only sees one objective in mind at his core, and won't hesitate to slash his way through as many bodies as possible to complete this objective. Not to say he's a complete asshole, however. Despite his view on life, he's still a protector of the weak and innocent, or so he sees himself, and as such will not mindlessly kill those whom don't seem the type to do misdeeds, and won't step over them to achieve his goals. Quite the opposite, he'll go to great lengths to save those too weak to do it themselves, and is a compassionate person even when it isn't obvious. As comes with his outfit, he's very mysterious, often not giving away a whole lot in the beginning. He'll often refer to himself as "Void" instead of giving his real name, likely as a side effect of his psychological training, or maybe as just a personal preference. It'll take a bit to get his real name out of him. Talents: An experienced combatant, strategist and acrobat. He's developed his own form of martial arts simply through observing, and copying movements he's seen. As such, his style is consistently developing and evolving. He's also intelligent in mechanics and gadgetry, capable of building his own. Preferences: He has a real weakness for the damsel in distress type of girl, and one with a pretty face will take him back a bit. While he doesn't like openly admitting it, even to himself, he's also a secret submissive. Skilled/Unskilled: Has no idea what the hell he's doing (Unskilled). Fears: Seeing someone die, small and dark rooms, being completely alone, being forced back to life as a test subject. Likes: Seeing people live happy lives, helping with problems, the night, and the moon. Dislikes: Death, loneliness, loud music, people with no regard for life, guns, military and the government. Hometown: Forgot the name. Parents/Guardians: Can't remember their names, but he had a mom, and a dad which he can't fully remember the appearance of. Siblings: None that he can remember, but there may have been someone... Timeline/Period: Born in the year 2035, on an alternate world called Helzol. Transported to Kuroi in 2056, in Helzol's time. Helzol. An alternate Earth in which only the strongest survived, and on which technology advanced much further, humans were much more intelligent, and had stronger natural abilities. Magic was, at this period of time on Helzol, also starting to become a known thing, and where all of the "new generation" as they were called, were forcibly enlisted into military programs for testing and as weapons of war upon being discovered.
This is where the man known as Reiz comes in. He was struck with the burden of being born special in a time where greed and the "pride of the nation" came before all else.
Throughout most of his life, he was just an average person, or so he thought. He went through life at an average pace, until that very fateful day. He was at home, and trying to help his mom fix the television as it had clunked out on them. Reiz got mad at it, and unknowingly unlocked his hidden potential. He sent jolts out of his body and into the TV, which was sufficient enough to turn it back on.
He, as well as his parents, were shocked, and a little happy. However, realization soon kicked in, and they were afraid their 10 year old son would get taken away from them.
They set up restriction after restriction to keep these powers of his hidden, but in the end it proved inevitable after a certain event. The family eventually caught glimpses of people in the corner of their eyes as they went about their daily business. Men in black suits. But they ignored it for the most part, even though they were worried after noticing that they were around the most when Reiz was with them.
For a while they were safe, or so they thought, but it wasn't to last.
One day, at night, they were on their way home after seeing a horror movie about a masked phantom killer. Turning onto an alley as a shortcut, Reiz and his parents came across a group of criminals, the local gang in the area, and they didn't look happy.
They demanded that they be paid to pass, but both mother and father refused, telling their son to run quickly and find the police.
Complying, Reiz began to run, but stopped when he heard the noise he'll never forget. A gunshot.
He turned back, and was greeted with the sight of his parents crashing lifelessly to the ground in a pile of their own blood.
The sight drove him to rage, and he couldn't remember too clearly after that, just the constant sound of electricity, screaming, and fire in a constant blackness.
When he awoke, he was greeted with a really bright light. He was laying on a table, in a rather small room. He got up, and was met by a man in a white labcoat.
Reiz was taken through, and given explanation after explanation. He was told about how he has been under surveillance on suspicion of possessing magical powers for some time, and how he's been announced as dangerous to the public.
This is, of course, a front for what they were really planning on doing. Reiz was going to become a soldier for the military, and had no say in the matter. He had more potential than most to walk into their organization, after being informed that he was also the one who had killed every gang member to assault him in that alley, before their agents could even get in there to protect him.
And so he was taken through the ropes forcibly, learning the basics of war strategy and martial arts, as well as how to control his powers better.
He was given the nickname of "Void" for his emotionless way of fighting in combat, and was given his own personal combat suit due to this, which he eventually chose to wore at all times rather than just while on a mission. This was received negatively by his caretakers, whom figured he had lost his mind. They eventually stopped pestering him about it though, after many months. Reiz simply said he had no interest in his former self anymore, dedicating all his time and effort to the ways of the soldier.
Though his former self still remained to a degree, as he didn't completely follow the heartless tactics these people forced on him.
At the age of 17, he became the leader of the "Special Attack Division", or "SAD", consisting of people like him which have now become more common than before.
He had now become a well known enforcer for the military, only being called out on occasions where they needed to send a message that they weren't messing around, or during dire conflicts. As such, he began to become less and less valued as a fighter and more as a symbol for the people, and became more withdrawn into his own living quarters. Which allowed for what happened next to happen very easily...
Now at the age of 21, he's become known as a war hero, a legend to his government's military strength, has had many urban horror stories made from other countries, and makes soldiers from enemy sides shiver with just the slightest sight of his red cloak.
Unfortunately, he's also started to become a bit insane, or so his caretakers say. It's less that and more that Reiz has become progressively more angry with his country's way of doing things, and has grown minor amnesia, being unable to remember certain things like what his family's faces look like, or his last name.
This was when it all happened, and it happened so fast. A flash of light, and he was whisked away. He didn't even know what happened, but as he awoke, his eyes were now looking at what appeared to be a new world...
